Vehicle removed - illegal parking |
||
|
Dear Resident,
The Ashton Hurst Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out on Hartshead estate today following several complaints about illegally parked vehicles.
While passing Winchester Avenue, we came across a vehicle that was parked completely across the pavement. As we approached, we saw a member of the public forced to walk in the road to get around it. We tried to find the owner of the vehicle, but after several unsuccessful attempts, PCSO Brockett and PCSO Chadwick arranged for the vehicle to be removed as it was causing an unnecessary obstruction.
We’d like to remind everyone that although we understand that sometimes parking partially on the pavement may be unavoidable, parking in a way that fully blocks the pavement or prevents people from safely passing is not acceptable. If the owner cannot be found or refuses to move the vehicle, the Police do have the authority to remove it. We would also ask that if you see a vehicle causing this type of obstruction, please report it directly to the Police rather than only posting it on social media. We do not monitor local social media pages, so if it isn’t reported to us, we cannot take action.
Regards
